Not really, the computer that I use to update this site is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I will occasionally reboot it every few weeks.
I have heard some say by turning off the computer this gives the components a chance to cool off and turning off the computer prolongs the life. I have been using the same computer for the past 3 years. The components seem fine to me.
