FREE Computer Training Being Offered at these Locations:

Lakewood Public Library – This spring and summer, the Library will be offering monthly classes that cover the basics of computer usage, web searching, e-mail and the Microsoft programs Word and PowerPoint.

In partnership with the William Wells Brown Community Center, the Kentucky Housing Corporation, Lexington Housing Authority and Lexmark International, ConnectKentucky will launch a new technology training program on Tuesday aimed at enhancing the lives of those living in the 292 Hope VI Apartments in downtown Lexington.

Norman library offers computer classes – The Norman Public Library has announced its computer class schedule for March, including a new one on researching your Civil War ancestors.

New Castle-Henry County Public Library is offering free computer classes during the months of March and April. All classes will take place in the computer training lab (located behind the public lab) and require advanced sign-up. Register online at www.nchcpl.org under the calendar link or by calling (765) 529-0362, ext. 316.

Community College offers free computer courses for displaced refinery workers – Funding for the computer classes is provided by the Delaware County Workforce Investment Board. Delaware County Community College set up the computers and is providing computer instructors Tim Maguire, Nancy White and Gene Riordan to do the training.

Libraries in Houston, Stewart counties offer free classes – For more information about computer training classes, contact the Houston County Library at 931-289-3858 or the Stewart County Library at 931-232-3127.

Chester, Ill. – The Steeleville Area Public Library will again be offering Basic Computer training at the library.  The class will be on Thursday, March 1st and Friday, March 2nd from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15.  at the library.

FREMONT — Connect Ohio has announced Terra State Community College is a partner in the statewide Every Citizen Online broadband training project and is providing free basic computer training to any interested adult.

Free basic computer training for Imus seniors – IMUS, Cavite, March 12 (PIA) – The Imus Computer College (ICC) recently conducted free computer training lessons for senior citizens of the community where an ICC branch is located.

With new computer lab, CHA residents will start to bridge digital divide – The Chicago Housing Authority cut the ribbon on the first of seven new technology centers Wednesday morning on the South Side, with the rest planned to open around the city over the next two years.
