lcd or dlp hdtv Digital TV Deadline has Been DelayedWASHINGTON – The Senate on Monday voted unanimously to postpone the digital tv deadline, A.K.A. the transition from analog to digital television broadcasting by four months to June 12, 2009 — setting the stage for Congress to pass the proposal as early as Tuesday.

Monday’s Senate vote is a big victory for the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress, who have been pushing for a delay amid growing concerns that too many Americans won’t be ready for the currently scheduled Feb. 17, 2009 changeover.

Also as a side note: The government ran out of DTV converter box coupons earlier this month. Unfortunately about 2.5 million Americans are still on a waiting list for to get coupons to purchase DTV converter boxes.
